The Past

Steve Barnwell started in the motor industry in the 1960’s. After completing an old fashioned apprenticeship he established Barnwell Motor Engineering. (As a sole proprietor). He began to specialise in Land Rover Vehicles in the late 1970’s, building, modifying and racing them for many years. As a result of this he became the head of the Association of Land Rover clubs scrutineering committee. His son Brandon joined BME on leaving school and passed a 3 year B tech course in just 18 months!

The firm stopped trading in 1999, when Steve joined VOSA and became a Government Vehicle Examiner, while Brandon went to gain further qualification and experience and became an expert at Jaguar Land Rover, working at a main dealerships. For the last few years Brandon has been contracted to Jaguar and Land Rover and has been working in the development, testing and problem solving divisions, using the newest technologies.

The Future

As a father and son partnership the firm has now invested in the latest diagnostic tools to be able to diagnose faults up to, and beyond, the current models. “Face Lifting” your Jaguar, Land Rover or Range Rover to the very latest specification, at extremely competitive rates are the firm's specialisation.

From a Series one Land Rover to the latest “Hi Tech” Range Rover, or from your Series 2 Jaguar to the latest XKF, BME have the tools as well as the expertise to complete the tasks at a competitive prices compared to that of a Jaguar or Land Rover main dealership.
